Summer Holiday Reading

Please see details below of all summer holiday children's activities in the Portsmouth libraries.

Phoenix and Turtle is a pop-up theatre production that will be performed in all libraries, funded by Arts Council England, aimed at children 4 years+ and based on the poem by William Shakespeare.  

Alderman Lacey Library

Beddow Library

Friday 3rd August 10-11am Phoenix and Turtle - a performance for children 4+ (admission: pay what you want)

Saturday 4th August Friends of Beddow Library present the Beddow Summer Bake-off (cakes need to handed into Beddow Library before 12 noon).

Different age categories; 7 and under; 8-12 years; 13-16 years and adults.  Cakes will be sold off after judging.

Tuesday 7th August Zoolab 11-12 (hosted by the Friends of Beddow Library).

Tickets are available only at Beddow Library £3.00 per child.  Children must be over 2 years old.

Zoolab offers a fascinating animal handling experience.  Zoolab will have a 'Mischief Makers' theme.

Tuesday 14th August 10-11am Baby Yoga Taster.   Free tickets available at Beddow Library, places limited.  Babies must be at least 8 weeks old (not crawling).  Baby yoga is a stimulating but gentle activity to try with your baby.

Tuesday 14th August 2-3pm Sausage Madness.  Tickets free but limited places from Beddow Library.  Come and meet Gnasher's friend Toby, a miniature fluffy sausage dog.  Listen to themed stories and take part in an activity as well. 

Tuesday 28th August 10-11am Woolly Wonders (hosted by the friends of Beddow Library) tickets are available only at Beddow Library, £3.00 per person.

Beddow Library will be visited by two lovely Alpacas.
