Important Puffin Information
PE days - we currently have PE on a Monday. Please ensure your child has sensible shorts, T-shirt and shoes (either plimsolls or trainers). Please remember children are not allowed to wear earrings during PE and their hair must be up. In the colder months, please ensure your child has some warmer sports clothes to wear.
Please ensure PE kits are in school and clearly named.
Swimming - We go swimming on a Friday. Please ensure children have their names on their items.
Homework - Guided Reading homework will be given out on a Friday. Please return all guided reading homework by Wednesday to ensure there is enough time for it to be marked and given out again on Friday.
Super Spellers also go home on a Friday. Please practise your spellings ready for a test on the following Thursday. You may like to follow 'look, cover, write, check' when you are practising at home.
We have had lots of fun during our Around the World topic. We launched our topic by releasing oyster shells into the sea! We all painted an oyster shell and then Dr Malyon took them out on a boat and released them into the sea. We were excited to find out where our shells landed!
We enjoyed learning about the 7 continents and 5 oceans of the world and liked learning about lots of countries. We learnt about famous artists in different countries and focused a lot on Chinese paintings. We also had great fun learning about India and making a curry. It was delicious!
Our Big Home
Our topic this half term is ‘Our Big Home’. We will be learning lots about different habitats, food chains and plants. We will also be learning lots more about habitats on our trip to Chichester Harbour.
Rehearsals are well under way for our Year 2 Leaver’s Assembly! We hope to see you all there. Remember to bring your tissues!
We are looking forward to all of the exciting things happening for the rest of this half term and preparing to move into year 3.
